Sex and Anxiety

What is Sex Therapy?

When you get in the way of your own pleasure…

Sex and intimacy can be a wonderfully connecting and joyful experience with yourself and others. But sometimes it can also be filled with anxiety, self-doubt, worry, and embarrassment. This can be caused by trauma, negative experiences, societal pressures, or medical issues.

I primarily work with male-identified clients of all sexual identities to help them identify how anxiety shows up in their relationships and sex life, ways to address it, and how to talk and listen to their partner(s) about their needs and values.

What to Expect:

Our work together will include:

  • an assessment of your sexual history

  • identifying if there are potential physical or medical factors to your experience and connect you with medical providers if needed

  • Use mindfulness, trauma work, and DBT to bring warmth and compassion to your own sexual life

  • I will suggest various podcasts, books, and videos, along with exercises to practice at home to supplement our time together

My hope in our work is to create more pleasure and playfulness, and less worry and avoidance.
